Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, Pokhara, the second important city of Nepal is a hidden gem that beckons travelers from all corners of the globe. Often referred to as the “Gateway to the Annapurna Circuit” and “City of Lakes,” Pokhara’s greatest allure lies in its breathtaking natural scenery. Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Annapurna mountain ranges, the city provides a jaw-dropping backdrop of snow-capped summits.
Pokhara is a place to photograph at a different pace than Kathmandu and other locations in the valley where the senses are continuously overstimulated. Here everything slows down.
Although the city is becoming somewhat touristy, Pokhara offers considerable opportunities for travel photography. While remaining in a very small area, you can find some of the best viewpoints to photograph the Himalayas, especially at sunrise, both from the boat on the lake, from Sarangkot Hill, and the side of the Peace Pagoda.
