Travel Photography in Bandipur, Nepal.
Perched along a high ridge midway between Kathmandu and Pokhara, Bandipur is an open-air museum of Newari culture and customs. Its inhabitants seem to live in another era and more than 70% of the buildings are made up of traditional Newari houses, with carved wooden windows and slate roofs.
Walking through the narrow streets you can see farmers in their gardens, women carrying baskets of fodder, and children playing, all in the splendid setting of forest-covered mountains.
Bandipur is one of the most pleasant places in Nepal to spend some time. A place that has been able to resist the pressing pace of globalization and mass tourism. But for how much longer?
